We have to make our cats PUKE!!

Yes, that’s it, we want to make our cats throw up!

There are many reasons why cats throw up, in fact, there are times whereby it is essential for them to do so.

Cats are extremely adept at keeping themselves clean. They are born knowing how to groom themselves and rarely require bathing. However, while self-grooming, they will swallow loose hair, resulting in a cat hairball. Most cats get hairballs from time to time, and they are usually harmless.

A cat hairball is a buildup of dead hair and digestive juices in your cat’s stomach. Every cat grooms itself by licking its fur. and swallowing the hairs, which build up in its stomach to form hairballs. A cat’s tongue is equipped with small barbs, like the firm side of a velcro strip, that snags the hairs as it sheds. Barbs on the tongue face backward, a design engineered by nature to help remove loose hairs, but it also means cats have no choice but to swallow the hair they groom.

How to make them “Puke”?

Cat grass provides a lot of health advantages in addition to being a delightful treat for your cat. It is rich in minerals and vitamins, including A and D.

Cat grass also includes folic acid, which aids in the production of haemoglobin, which transports oxygen throughout the body, and chlorophyll, which relieves pain, heals infections, and functions as a breath freshener.

This leafy green also aids digestion. It not only serves as a laxative by forcing out hairballs, but it also aids in the removal of undigested food from cats’ stomachs when they vomit.

Unlike grass in your backyard, you can be certain that it does not contain toxins, and if your cat is eating cat grass that you have purchased or cultivated, they are less inclined to consume other types of grass that may contain pesticides or other harmful chemicals. Should cats feel unwell, they have a natural instinct to seek out the grass by themselves and you would not have to force-feed them.

While feeding cat grass is completely healthy for your cat, and they will naturally vomit to help digestion, cats have a tendency to overeat when they are unwell, so if you see your pet vomiting excessively, do consult your veterinarian.
